February 7th, 2010change of plans…

you be Granny!

(This is one of those boring posts about life changes. It does not contain teasing or pictures of my remarkable family and friends or controversy. Sorry.)

Tomorrow Dad will officially have bought Wildwoods. This is the division of Chris Brauchli’s company that builds architectural interiors (kitchens, bathrooms, libraries, wardrobes, home theatres, studies, etc) for homes at the top end of the market.

This is really cool! For a long time we’ve been praying and looking at a possible family businesses. Dad, Zac and I will be working in it.

Dad’s going to carry on with his job for a while longer, until things are more established.

Zac will be working part time towards a civil engineering degree, and part in the workshop.

I’ll probably be working in the workshop (and doing the marketing for Wildwoods) close to full time, and I’ll try and do some marketing consulting for clients in extra time. ;)

Mum tends to think we only got the business because of the tools. (Kind of true, it’s a glorious workshop.) MrT thinks Dad just had to get a bigger shed than his new one. (nod)

I’m super excited to be getting into this. I love woodwork, so this will be a little bit like building the boats but getting paid. :) The last year with the honey was really interesting (high on experience but low on profits) so this could be a lot better. ;)

You know Proverbs 3:5-6. I feel it applies well. We do a stumbling job of acknowledging Him, but He is so faithful to guide us. I can look back and see how He has looked after our family and blessed us all through my life.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
