March 16th, 2010Collecting Honey

Here’s a copy of a post about our final honey trip.

You will note that the normally pitiful smoker was working in all it’s glory when Zac came with us.

On the way down to collect your honey we stopped at this lookout. In the background you can see the big active volcanoes in the center of the North Island. It’s the end of summer, so just about all the snow has melted.

March 15th, 2010luxury beekeeping

Last week was my final beekeeping trip.

Darcy and Dave being fancy as they drink coke. Zac 30 seconds after they told him he could have a fire.

January 23rd, 2010East to West

On Monday I did a 45 hour day, from 6 AM till 3 AM Wednesday, moving beehives across the country.

I’ve never been so devastatingly tired – still haven’t really got over it. I was reading in the NY Times and it turns out the sleep deprivation we had was far over the limits for torture in the States.

Anyway when I see you I’ll be happy to go on about how tough it was, but here’s a copy of the post from a client’s site…

December 11th, 2009the big move east

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been working with Darcy moving beehives. I’ve been driving to various sites around the country while he slept after beeing up all night. I’ve driven further than ever before.

Yesterday four of us took two utes and moved the Your Pure Honey beehives out to their location at Hicks Bay.

Basically there is four hours of gorgeous beaches and coast out your window, getting more and more deserted as you go along.

Below is a copy of a post from one of the clients websites…

August 24th, 2009Your Pure Honey

After weeks of not sleeping (or so it feels) we begin promoting our new business tomorrow.

So ends eight months of double guessing and speculating on whether anyone will actually spend money on my crazy idea.

I’d really appreciate if some of you could go over the site and kick it around. Please tell me any errors, problems, suggestions, improvements, etc. I’d especially like to know about anything you don’t understand, find confusing or are left wondering about. Don’t be kind, we’ve got a lot riding on this.

April 3rd, 2009keep off the roads…

… and don’t use the bridges either.

I had another awesome day in the back country, yesterday. Got up at 3:30 and got home at 10:30 in the evening.

Filmed a swing bridge with ice all over the planks, parked in one ditch (which was my fault but  I could explain if I wanted to), destroyed one tyre, bashed in a mudguard, made two trips down to Stratford, and went through numerous tunnels.

To come home we ended up going south on the Forgotten Highway, and then came back up past Mount Taranaki and up the west coast. So I got to see a few more places I’d never been.

March 13th, 2009into the wild

As requested, here is some shoddy footage from my trip. ;)

Mum thinks I sound a bit downbeat, but I wasn’t; I guess on a seven hour drive by myself I just don’t sound like my normal enthusiastic self. I actually did enjoy it a lot more this time, and got some great stuff. :)

January 12th, 2009long ways

This week I went on a very long trip. I’m working with Darcy (and his bees) doing some marketing. I was there to do photos and video.

One of the statements below is false. See if you can identify which it is…
