Josiah Jody Foster was born on the 7th of February at 9:15pm

Josiah and Rachel are doing well. Thanking the Lord for His care.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14)

Josiah means God is our savior and our help.

We also like the name Josiah because he was the Jewish child king who found God’s Word (they’d literally forgotten about the Bible) and started following it.

He’s JJ for short (not Joe).

He weighed 3.9 kg (8lb 9oz).

So happy Josiah’s here and it’s over for Rachel.

Josiah Day 2 02

Rachel’s still exhausted with only two hours sleep in three days and a very difficult labour. The staff were very impressed that she labored so hard all day without an epidural. In the afternoon we decided she needed an epidural, but there was an emergency (multi car smash) which meant she couldn’t get it. After that Josiah’s heart rate dropped. They were able to bring it back, but they were getting prepared for an emergency C-section. They didn’t need to do it but apparently if she’d had the epidural, Josiah probably wouldn’t have reacted and we’d have needed the C-section.

It was horrific and I hated every minute of watching Rachel suffer. So proud of her and her beautiful attitude. Thankful that we were always in His hands. Also really thankful for a Christian midwife and for medical care when we need it.

Amazed at the soul God has given us to care for. Praying that Josiah will come to serve the Lord.

“Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning…
By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong…
O Lord, be my helper! …
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!” (Psalm 30)
