February 8th, 2014Josiah Jody Foster

Josiah Jody Foster was born on the 7th of February at 9:15pm

Josiah and Rachel are doing well. Thanking the Lord for His care.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14)

Josiah means God is our savior and our help.

We also like the name Josiah because he was the Jewish child king who found God’s Word (they’d literally forgotten about the Bible) and started following it.

He’s JJ for short (not Joe).

He weighed 3.9 kg (8lb 9oz).

So happy Josiah’s here and it’s over for Rachel.

May 29th, 2010short people

I completely forgot about posting this.

We made this short on Christmas Eve and showed it at our Boxing Day party. First time I’ve ever made something in a day! (That doesn’t include the planning and writing.)

Near Maketu.

March 15th, 2010packing

Find me a family of eight going away for three days and a wedding, who packs lighter than us.

I didn’t think you could.

(I will have photos from the wedding as soon as Dad gives me the edits and I get clearance to post them.)

December 29th, 2009a long night

At dusk on Christmas day I was on the trampoline (always a good idea after a huge feast) with Jesse, and we got talking about how the VWs used to sleep on the trampoline at New Years. Jess thought this was a fantastic idea.

I was wishing I hadn’t done it, but afterwards Jesse said it was epic, awesome and lovely. (Of course he slept most the night and napped on the sofa in the arvo as people were arriving for the party.)

June 26th, 2009winter solstice

At the start of the week it was the shortest day. So we thought we should celebrate mid-winter with a swim in the pool.

At six degrees it doesn’t so much feel cold as much as it feels like being beaten rapidly with a thousand sticks. It crunches the life out of you as your will to live vapourises into the water closing over you.

See if you can count how many minutes Joey is in the pool for. . .
